Network Adaptor Module-232

The Notifier NAM-232 Network Adapter Module functions as an interface between the AFP-200, AFP-300, and AFP-400 Fire Alarm Control Panels and the NOTI•FIRE•NET™. The control panels each consume a single-node address on the network. The NAM-232 interfaces to the control panels through the EIA-232 serial communications port. NOTI•FIRE•NET™ is a series of systems that allow a group of Fire Alarm Control Panels and other control equipment to connect together to form a true peer-to-peer network. Equipment that connects to NOTI•FIRE•NET™ and communicates with other equipment using the network may be referred to as a network node. An AM2020/ AFP1010 Fire Alarm System with a SIB-NET Serial Interface Board installed, an NCS Network Control Station, an INA Intelligent Network Annunciator, and an AFP-200/ 300/400 with a NAM-232 may all be network nodes. The network supports communications over a twisted-pair wire or fiber-optic medium. A network combination of both wire and fiber may exist in the same network.
