BACnet is a true, non-proprietary open protocol communication standard. The BACnet protocol is based on devices, objects, properties and services. Communication between BACnet devices is achieved by using various data sharing services for reading and writing the properties of particular objects and by the equally acceptable execution of other protocol services.
