NXL Series HVAC Variable Frequency Drive
Variable frequency drives provide step-less speed control for all basic HVAC applications such as Pumps ,Fans, Compressors.
Honeywell NXL is a compact frequency converter with the output ranging from 250 W to 30 kW. The Motor and Application Control Block is based on microprocessor software. The microprocessor controls the motor basing on the information it receives through measurements, parameter settings, control I/O and control keypad. The IGBT Inverter Bridge produces a symmetrical, 3-phase PWM modulated AC-voltage to the motor.
The control keypad constitutes a link between the user and the frequency converter. The control keypad is used for parameter setting, reading status data and giving control commands. Instead of the control keypad, also a PC can be used to control the frequency converter if connected through a cable and a serial interface adapter (optional equipment). Honeywell NXL HVAC series already includes I/O board NXLOPTAI as standard. All other sizes but MF2 have an internal brake chopper. For closer information, contact Honeywell see back cover). The input EMC filters are available as options externally for MF2 and MF3. In other sizes the filters are internal and included as standard.

Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) accept a control input and then output tailored PWM control signal to operate (motors, fans, pumps, etc.) with maximum efficiency. The VFD can be field-programmed without any extra devices or computer connections.
