The Insulator barrier and protocol converter are used as a divider in safe and classified area. The Insulator barrier unit is a DC / DC converter and galvanic separation is therefore achieved between the detectors in the Ex area and the plant in general. This makes the system independent grounding in the Ex area. The Insulator barrier device is polarity dependent.
