    This course provides decision point questions. Students are given a scenario and provide an answer to a customer’s question. They receive immediate feedback on their response with a Best, Good, Bad scale.

    Overview

    After completing this course, students will be able to communicate fire alarm standards to customers, as well as recommend possible solutions to a customer’s fire-related problems.

    Objectives

    By the end of the course, the student will be able to:

    - Describe the primary purpose of a fire alarm system.

    - Identify three business impacts caused by fire events, beyond loss of life.

    - Associate basic Fire Alarm System’s components with their purpose.

    - Suggest and appropriate Initiating Device for a given scenario.

    - Suggest and appropriate Notification Appliance for a given scenario.

    - Suggest an appropriate Fire Alarm Control Panel/system type for a given scenario.

    - Recognize the need to adhere to codes and regulations for North American (or relevant geographic region) fire alarm system installations.
