Video Recording Manager (VRM) provides a Distributed Network Video Recorder solution eliminating the need for dedicated NVRs and signaling the generation of IP network video recording. VRM supports iSCSI-based storage systems and Video-over-IP devices. VRM introduces the concept of a storage virtualization layer managing all the individual disk arrays in the entire system as a single “virtual” common pool of storage which is intelligently allocated as needed.

The Video Recording Manager (VRM) integration with OnGuard allows for comprehensive, centralized management, enabling operators to view live/recorded video, control PTZ cameras, and manage alarms directly within the OnGuard interface. This integration is supported through the Open Access Alliance program, enabling IP cameras and storage solutions to function seamlessly with OnGuard’s access control platform.

Functional Features of the Interface Customers should expect the interface to allow them to:

• Unified Monitoring: View live and recorded video within the OnGuard application, removing the need to switch to a separate surveillance interface.
• PTZ Operations & Controls: Perform Pan-Tilt-Zoom (PTZ) operations, Focus and Iris controls, Presets.
• Video Analytics: Supports Intelligent Video Analytics (IVA), enabling automatic alerts for suspicious activity (e.g., loitering) to be fed directly into OnGuard.
• Event Verification: Intelligently links video to alarms, allowing operators to immediately verify intrusion or access events via nearby cameras.
• Device Support: Certified to work with VRM (Video Recording Manager) and the DIVAR IP family of recording appliances.
• Video Export: Export recorded video from recorders.
