Introducing the Connected Power Solution
Total energy management, with outlet level monitoring and control.
Discover Connected Power energy savings throughout your building
MK Electric presents the first commercial building small power management system, now available fully integrated with the TREND® IQVISION building management solution.
Designed to optimise your building's energy efficiency, Connected Power can help save energy by controlling and managing plug-in power use at the individual outlet level through your BEMS supervisor.

What is the Connected Power solution?
In three steps, Connected Power brings full visibility to monitor and control all of a building's plug in equipment.
INSTALLATION
Replace traditional mechanical switch sockets with a range of intelligent networked electronic sockets. MK Electric sockets offer pain free installation for either new or retrofit projects.
COMMISSIONING
An electrical contractor will build the system virtually, linking hubs and sockets using our portable app. This links the electronic sockets into a MK Connected Power Hub and connects to the Trend BEMS.
CONFIGURATION
The system integrator will configure the system to customers exact requirements. Control, monitor and display information from all plug in equipment across your estate, all in the Trend IQVISION Supervisor.
Use cases
Whether a university campus, commercial office or leisure facility, the Connected Power Solution has consistently shown significant efficiency by empowering energy and building managers to monitor small power usage, at a granular level.
GRAMMAR SCHOOL
We worked with the facilities management company to implement measures to address and closely monitor energy use. We reduced the Penistone Grammar School’s plug-in energy consumption to a new lower baseline average, by managing devices directly through the BMS.
COUNCIL OFFICES
Scheduling was implemented to power down high use devices in the evenings and over the weekend. As a result implementing the Connected Power solution reduced the Fife Council office plug-in energy load to zero during the weekends, when completely powered off.
UNIVERSITY ESTATE
Tested in a series of key campus buildings resulting in a series of interesting insights, including picking up unauthorised use of fan heaters, which was key to the site manager. The Connected Power solution helped Cranfield University reduce plug-in energy use in its archive area by an average of 60.9%.
