OnGuard Version 8.3 Software

The LenelS2 OnGuard® version 8.3 access control system is the latest full release of LenelS2's OnGuard enterprise security management platform, focused on enhancing customer value. Feature highlights include a continuing transformation towards a browser-based environment, as well as a sharper enterprise customer focus, improved controller management, native support for the new Mercury M-Series controllers, and tighter integration with the Milestone XProtect® video management system.

• New and Improved Ways to Use the OnGuard System - Enterprise-Level Focus: OpenAccess API adds a bulk export option to provide up to 30x improvements in the retrieval of large data sets. Status On-Demand (Alarm Monitoring): An 'On-Demand Status' mode in the Alarm Monitoring client, optimizing performance and operator efficiency in large environments by suspending constant status requests to reduce network traffic and improve start-up time, while allowing quick access to device status as needed. Lockdown Groups (Readers): Introducing support for Lockdown Groups, allowing security administrators to manage logical groups of readers within OnGuard for the purposes of emergency response, and allowing operators to easily activate lockdown within their OnGuard environment. Installation Updates: Scripted Installation updates, Client Connect, and a smaller client install image support the advanced needs of larger customers and can benefit all. Operator Tools: "Jump to Device" option takes the alarm monitoring operator directly from the alarm to the related device in the system tree, saving time and improving response.
• New and Enhanced OnGuard Browser Clients - OnGuard Behaviors: New browser client focused on configuration allows management for Time Zones/Holidays, Access Levels, Device Groups, and Lockdown Groups. Access Manager: Enhanced inactive badge feedback as well as access level management for those with the proper permissions. OnGuard Credentials: Streamlines inactive cardholder management with search and multiple-delete features, and introduces a Light/Dark mode for improved user experience. Device Group Support: Added to our Behaviors and Monitor clients, Device Groups provide the ability to manage the creation and operation of logical device groups within the OnGuard environment. OnGuard Reports: Adds the ability to publish scheduled reports to a user-specified FTP server, in addition to email and save-to-disk options.
• Access Control Hardware and Integration - Supporting New Mercury M-Series Controllers: LenelS2 introduces support for the Mercury M-Series controllers. This latest line of controllers offers a strong combination of security and availability, with updates to the OS, memory, and security options (like Secure Boot), along with a 10-year component availability plan in support of supply chain concerns. Controller Management: A completely new browser client, OnGuard Hardware, introduces the ability to support the management of Controller User Passwords and Certificates within LenelS2 access controllers for more efficient policy compliance. Milestone Integration and Installation: Building on the existing Milestone integration, LenelS2 introduces new installation support to make adding XProtect VMS integration to an OnGuard client less complex and easier to support.
