Partiendo del éxito y la fiabilidad del detector SS4, el detector FS20X representa un enorme avance en la integración de las tecnologías de detección infrarrojas y ultravioletas.El FS20X es un detector de incendios y llamas multiespectro y espectro ultravioleta (UV), doble infrarrojo (Dual IR) y visible (VIS) con un probado sensor ultravioleta ciego a la luz solar.El detector FS20X ofrece una respuesta más rápida ante las falsas alarmas, con un rango de temperatura más amplio y una mayor distancia de detección en comparación con los detectores convencionales de tecnología ultravioleta/infrarroja (UV/IR).Los antiguos detectores convencionales con tecnología ultravioleta/infrarroja (UV/IR) y sensores de infrarrojos de banda estrecha de 4,3 micrómetros no ofrecen ninguna respuesta ante los incendios con humo o cuando la lente del detector está manchada de aceite u otras sustancias, ya que las señales ultravioletas y de 4,3 micrómetros quedan atenuadas, ocultas o absorbidas por el humo o los contaminantes de la lente del detector.Además, estos antiguos detectores con tecnología ultravioleta/infrarroja no detectan los incendios si se encuentran instalados detrás del cristal de una ventana.
Los microprocesadores duales proporcionan un alto nivel de funcionamiento seguro, junto con un rendimiento rápido y fiable.El microprocesador principal ejecuta cálculos de procesamiento de señales y muestreos digitales de alta velocidad, mientras que el microprocesador secundario gestiona los diferentes datos de los sensores, lleva a cabo las comunicaciones y los autodiagnósticos, y ofrece versatilidad de interfaz y memoria adicional para el almacenamiento de datos en el registro de sucesos y FirePic™.
El detector FS20X ofrece una distancia de detección superior a 60 metros (configuración de muy alta sensibilidad) para la detección de incendios de referencia causados por heptano de 0,1 metros cuadrados, y dispone de un cono de visión mucho mayor en cobertura volumétrica que la mayoría de detectores con tecnología ultravioleta/infrarroja (UV/IR).
