Overview
The Saia PCD controllers have slots for a battery holder module which houses lithium batteries with an operating life of 1 to 3 years. The batteries protect time critical data in the memory even if the power supply is switched off. They can be replaced when the controllers are operating with the power supply switched on. On a number of modules, LEDs indicate the status of the CPU and battery as well as errors in the application.
