OSID Light Shield Imager
OSI-LS light shields are available for OSID imagers to prevent saturation from direct or reflected light.
OSI-LS light shields are designed for OSID beam detectors, which are susceptible to saturation from direct sunlight most often when installed in an east-west direction or when the sun is low on the horizon. Background subtraction techniques and IR and UV filters make OSID far less susceptible to saturation than standard IR beams, and OSID will never false alarm due to bright sunlight. However, severe saturation may in some cases affect the emitter IR and UV signal and cause a fault to be reported. OSI-LS light shields are available for imagers to prevent saturation from direct or reflected light. The light shields can only be used in end-to-end/one-on-one configurations. The light shields cannot be used in multi-emitter applications. OSI-LS shields are easy to install and protect against light outside of a 30° viewing angle.
