Training
Gamewell-FCI offers a comprehensive programming training program for technical personnel directly employed by an authorized distributor. Technicians who need upload/download capabilities though the CAMWorks License must first complete factory certification by attending E3/S3 University.
Training is conducted and coordinated through the Honeywell Fire Systems Training Department.
- Only training that is scheduled through the training department qualifies for valid training certificates, and only employee swith valid training certificates in the nameof the company they are currently employed at, meet the criteria for having been factory trained
- Certificates of Factory Training (via LMS) are issued in the name of the individual AND the name of the distributor and are not normally transferable
- Factory certification is maintained by annually completing assigned continuing education and successfully passing a related exam (see details in section #2 Certification Maintenance)
E3/S3 University is the core Factory Training course for the E3 and S3 panels. This course is a software programming course, covering programming and maintaining an E3 Series and Smart Loop Panel (S3) Fire Alarm Systems, both in stand-alone mode and a networked system. An overview of the various modules used in E3 configurations is conducted. Discussion will focus on their individual design, features and their collective capabilities. CAMWorks is used throughout the course for Fire Alarm Control Panel (FACP) programming.
E3 Voice Systems is recommended 12-18 months after E3/S3 University. This course provides the basics of voice messaging with an E3 Series Fire Alarm System in a networked system. A review of the various modules used in E3 voice configurations is conducted. Discussion will focus on their individual design, features and their collective capabilities. CAMWorks is used throughout the course for E3 voice messaging programming. Mass Notification Systems are NOT trained during this course
E3 Advanced – Special Audio/Mass Notification provides advanced CAM Low-level commands used to accomplish fire alarm signaling overrides by Mass Notification systems. It discusses common messaging requirements such as Multiple Messaging Chaining, Round Counting and Audio Synchronization and demonstrates Advanced CAM composition techniques and structures.
Third Party/End User Training is the responsibility of the authorized E3/S3 distributor. These third parties can attend E3/S3 training sessions if approved and sponsored by that distributor. This policy requires that an employee of the sponsoring distributorship be present during all sessions of face-to-face training. The authorized distributor is responsible for all end-user support, including technical support to the end user they sponsor. Tuition fees apply to both end users and distributor personnel in attendance. After the completion of training, end users receive an Acknowledgement of Attendance, not a Certificate of Factory Training.

CAMWorks Licensing
Software Tool Licenses are now maintained through the CLSS online portal.
- Licenses are linked directly to MYHBU training certification based on email addresses.
- If MYHBU training and CLSS Subscription are current, so is the license.
- ESDs will have greater control of technician licenses. ESDs can immediately delete a user when a technician leaves the company.
- Each programming technician is required to have a CLSS Professional Technician subscription or greater. This is included at no charge for all training completed through March 31, 2021. Complimentary CLSS subscriptions will expire when the most recent training expires.
- Beginning April 1, 2021 new technician instructor led training will include a 1-year CLSS Professional Technician subscription. When the complementary subscription expires, there will be an annual renewal fee of 2040 tokens and includes the Certification Maintenance program. All existing licenses must be migrated to this new model.
