Multi-mode and single-mode fiber-optic modules are plug-in fiber loop modules that work as a single channel to transmit or receive communications with Silent Knight® network interface cards. These modules create common communications and annunciation links on a fiber-optic networks of up to 17 panels.

- Single- and multi-mode modules can be used on the same network card for added design flexibility
- Mix fiber-optic segments in the same network as existing copper-wire segments for more convenient system upgrades
- For added flexibility, multi-site panels can also be connected using copper wire
